PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Major Plumbing Issue

We have been informed that the Bexar County Jail’s C tower has been suffering from a a water outage for approximately 48 hours now. According to sources there have been points in that period in which standing water was “all over the place.” During this time frame, inmates have not had running water or flushable toilets. The water outage is affecting in the vicinity of 350 inmates who are housed in C tower. This is especially troublesome since it means that inmates will be unable to maintain proper hygiene which could lead to an increase in COVID-19 infections.

As of yet, we have not received any information from our sources, letting us know if the plumbing issue has been fixed. Sheriff Javier Salazar has done nothing to inform the public, which includes the families of incarcerated individuals, regarding what is being done to fix the problem and what measures are being taken to ensure the safety well-being of the inmates.
