Officer Sexually Abusing His Own Children

(AL) – Tomas Arias, with the Enterprise Police Department in Alabama, was arrested on Friday after an investigation discovered sufficient evidence to charge him with 14 felonies for sexually abusing children. Since one of the charges is Parents/Guardians Permitting Children to Engage in Production of Obscene Matter, we can safely assume that the children who were being abused were either his own children or children whom he had obtained legal guardianship over. The interim police chief, Michael Moore, would not confirm the relationship, to protect the children, but did say assumptions could be made from the charges.

Sexual Abuse Charges Against Officer

Tomas Arias has been charged with 14 felony charges. Those charges include 6-counts of Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 12, 2-counts of Parents/Guardians Permitting Children to Engage in Production of Obscene Matter, 1-count of Sodomy in the First Degree, and 5-counts of Production of Obscene Matter Containing Visual Depiction of Person Uder 17 YOA Involved in Obscene Acts. It appears that the investigation did determine that Arias was producing child pornography but there is no indication, from the charges, that he sold the videos or put them on the internet.

36-year old Tomas Arias has been with the Enterprise Police Department since 2007. According to WSFA.com, “The Enterprise Police Department says a criminal complaint was filed against Tomas Arias on Oct. 5. The complaint alleged child sexual abuse and production of child pornography.” To ensure that an unbiased investigation was done, the complaint was turned over to the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation. The SBI did quick work, resulting in the 14 count indictment and the arrest and termination of Tomas Arias.

Tomas Arias was booked into the Coffee County Jail with bonds totalling $660,000. He posted his bond and was released from jail.
