Bexar County Corporal Arrested in Joint Sting

On Friday, Bexar County deputy, Cpl. Armando Trevino, was arrested while making a drug buy so that those drugs could be brought into the jail.  Trevino has supposedly been under observation “for a good portion of his time” by the Sheriff’s Office.  He has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 5 years.  How long was it going to take?  If the man was going into the jail with drugs why weren’t they having the drug canine making rounds by officers coming on duty and through the parking lot to check the cars?  They periodically do it anyway.

Why would it take so long to get proof?  According to the KSAT 12 article, information regarding the sale was given to the public integrity unit.  So even though they’ve suspected and observed him for a long time they were only able to do anything about it when someone gave them information?  Well, okay.  I do have faith in the deputies who work for the Sheriff’s Office which leads me to believe that what the Sheriff said is not strictly the truth but then it’s hard to have faith in someone who is so abysmally bad at their job.

Trevino wasn’t the only arrest made.  On Thursday the 24th, Deputy Markese Djuan Shands was arrested, after a 10 month investigation,  for Official Oppression.   Very little information regarding the offense was given in the KSAT 12 article.  You can read it here.
