Visitation Hours & Days
Even though there is no longer a need to be on a visitation list there are still rules, guidelines and schedules that have to be followed. The following information answers some of those questions.
What are the visitation days and time? Last Name: A – Z 5 days a week.
Days Visits begin Last visit
Sat 7pm – 4pm 8:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m.
Sun 7am – 4pm 8:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m.
Mon-Wed 12pm – 9pm 1:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m.
When can minor children visit? Only Saturday or Sunday.

I would just like to say thank you for putting together this site. As we all know getting information or any type of assistance from the county and it’s staff is an impossible task. As someone new to all of this I have learned to navigate all the obstacles and hurdles through time but I use this site as my starting point. Thank you for caring about those of us on the outside who have loved ones incarcerated. It makes life a little more bearable when faced with all the stresses.

Can me and a friend thats on the list visit my husband?? And I am also taking our baby will they allow our child to his father??? So its me his friend and his son going to visit him will they allow that?!?!
Vero – You and the baby will be one visit and your friend will be the second visit. He is allowed two visits a week.
Im trying to send money to an inmate but the tdc number wont go through is there any other way to send money?
Crystal – The TDC number? This website deals strictly with the Bexar County jail. We don’t have any information for TDC.

I wanted to know if i could see him if we been living together for 8months we have the same address on our ids and billswith the same aaddress and I just had a baby with him and his address and name is on the birth certificate can i see him since its before the 5 days …..and how do it work if he has a step son with me too? Lila – No. You will have to wait until after the first five days.
My son is new to the system. How many ppl can visit at once? Would he be able to see myself, his sister (18yrs) and his brother (12 yrs) all at once? And is there an age limit on younger siblings wanting to visit?
Tina – Your 12 year old is considered a child and will have to visit on the weekend in the company of an adult. That’s one visit. Your 18 year old gets a visit on her own. That’s two visits. That’s all he gets for one week.
My son last name starts with L, I am his dad can I see him tomorrow on sunday, it will be day 5

HOW CAN I MARRY MY FIANCE WHILE HES IN BEXAR COUNTY JAIL AWAITING A PRISON SENTENCE?
Brittney – You can’t. The Bexar County jail is not allowing marriages. You will have to wait until he gets to prison.
Why is visitation on second floor taking 5-8 hours. Are their really no solutions to better assist family and friends of inmates
Wanika – We have heard that for quite some time now, back under the previous sheriff, that they have been considering video visitation. If they do that it should speed up the process.
My uncle and I each visited my brother on Sunday, with separate ticket numbers. If I go visit him tomorrow will that be considered a first visit for the week or will they tell me he has already had his 2 visits for the week. To clarify my question, what is considered one week? MON-SUN OR SUN-SAT? Thank you for your help.

Me and my husband been married 2 years in order to see him and for the jail to know im his wife do I have to take my marriage license? And another thing can I take a copy id of the one the id place gives you before you get ypur actual one?
Clarissa – Having proof that you are legally married always helps. ID must be government issued and have a photo. As long as the temporary license meets those two things it will be accepted.
How long does it take for me to be on the visitation list
Jessy – It’s done within 24 hours. Actually the third shift officers do it so it depends on when the change is turned in but 24 hours is the longest it should take.
Why is inmates being held when the judge ordered the release? And the lawyer had the paper work sent over more than two weeks ago. Can some answer this please? W/o saying its missed placed or never received
Ayanaca – Call Central Records at 210-335-6201 to see if there are any other holds on him. If not you will need to contact his attorney to find out what is happening. If the judge ordered release but with a monitor they will keep him until a monitor can be placed on him.
My boyfriend tells me his visitations is on Monday and Saturdays but according to the visitation list on here is on Tuesdays his last name starts with p
Bianca – His visitation days are Sunday and Tuesday.
How do I know if I am on someone visitation list??
Laura – Either the inmate writes to let you know or if you already have a phone account set up he can tell you when he speaks to you. The only other option is for you to go visit. If you are not on the list they will tell you and you will not be allowed to see him.
My husband has a daughter who is of age in her 20s I believe is she able to go visit with my 15 year old n I take my other 2 kids on a Sunday visit
Victoria – Everyone will need to be on the visitation list but yes, she can take a child since she is an adult.
If someone is on bond from another county can he still visit an inmate?
Laura – Sure, unless there are some stipulations that say he can’t see that inmate.

How early do people usually start getting there on weekdays? Or what time do you think I should get there?
Zoe – They start giving out tickets at 11:30 during the week. Visitation begins at 12:00.
On visitation days, the last name refers to the inmate or visitors last name??

Melissa – They will be the same as any other weekend visitation day. They begin giving out tickets at 7:30 am, visitation begins at 8:00.
I’m handicapped and use a walker or wheelchair will I be allowed to visit. Also my Id expired but I have the temporary will that work?

Justin – It depends on your age. 17 is considered an adult. If you are under 17 you must be accompanied by an adult and can only visit on her weekend day.

They told me they don’t let immediately family come within the first five days unless it’s visitation day. Is that true!?
Amber – Yes. They changed their policy again. You can only go on a visitation day, regular visitation hours.
Im a teenager under 17, would I need to provide some type of identification still? Like a school id?

If my mom is still within the 5 days where immediate family can see her, can I still see her since its thrusday?

Just read all comments, this will be my first time visiting ever. If I take my purse and my phone but have no car and am going alone… They’ll turn me away? I really need my phone and wallet
Sabrina – No cell phones allowed. Yes, they’ll turn you away.
Can my 15yr old son go with me to the annex and wait in the lobby while I visit my sister today (Tuesday)?
Veronica – I originally had said yes but technically he is a minor. I wouldn’t recommend it.
My daughter in law wants to visit my son in jail but she has a warrant for traffic tickets will she get arrested if she goes and tries to visit him?
Liz – We will NEVER tell people that they won’t be arrested. There is always the possibility. That being said they don’t normally worry about tickets. Like we tell everyone else who asks this question. Take it at your own risk.
What time do people usually get there on Saturday morning…should I go early to avoid long lines?
Mikki – Tickets are given out starting at 7:30 am. Yes it can get crowded. You might want to come fairly early.
My partner was put in on thursday and last name tarts with A. Sinve its the first 5 days. Would i be able to see him on sunday. I am on his list.
William – First five days is for family members only.
The schedule says they hand out tickets at 6:30am on Saturdays and start visitation at 7:00am but for the past several months they have been passing out tickets between 7:10-7:30 and starting visits at around 7:45 who do i call to complain about that?
