What Do Those Letters Mean?

We know we are missing a lot of abbreviations and acronyms.  We’re working hard to get answers but have been having some difficulties.  The judicial side is not being very cooperative at this point.  We will continue to ask for the information that the public needs.  Thank you for your patience.

NOTE:  The abbreviations are put in by several different agencies (jail, D.A., courts…). There are no standard abbreviations. The employees make up their own so if you see something that looks like it’s the same, it probably is even if it’s slightly different.

Marc – We’re working on that. We gave them a list of acronyms that we would like them to tell us what they mean. PICU is on that list. No response yet. We got an answer! It stands for Population Impact Control Unit.

Aliceson – We’re not completely sure. It’s District Court file received but we’re not sure what the SEC stands for. Something else to add to the list of questions we have for them. It’s a shame they are not subject to open records requests. It would be easier to get information out of them.

Anayancy – We believe that means Attorney General Guidelines. We know the last part is guidelines. We’re pretty sure the firt part is Attorney General.

Garcia – Texas Department of Corrections Guidelines. It means the PR was refused based on something in those guidelines.

    • admin

Marcus – We believe that means County Court bond but aren’t 100% sure. It is one of the terms we are trying to get an answer for from Pre-Trial. They are worse than what we had to go through the first time around for the commissary lists. (We do have updated commissary lists that we got with no problem this time around, thank you Sheriff Salazar). One of the main problems is that the judicial branch is not subject to open records requests so it’s hard to force them to do anything. Even something as simple as telling us what their abbreviations mean. We’ll keep working on it.

Andreia – That is a charge that is added after the initial booking. Sometimes warrants come out on people who are in jail. When the jail books them on that charge it is called an add on charge since it was added on to what he already had.

Emily – We’re not sure where you found this designation. it’s too long for the space that is given on the mag’s list. If you could tell us where you found it we could try to contact that department to find out what it means.

Sandra – Thank you, you brought a new situation to our attention. There has been a change due to the overcrowding at the jail. Previous guidelines didn’t allow a person to be released on a P.R. bond under certain circumstances like being on probation. They are now using a Non-Guidelines designation that allows all misdemeanor charges to be eligible for a P.R. bond.

In this case we think the first two letters are the initials of the person who entered the information. The last letters, OTOFCO, we’re pretty sure stand for Out of County.

    • admin

Deb – They usually mean release when they write RLS and they mean P.R. bond when they write PR. We’re not sure about the C. Maybe it was a court ordered or approved P.R. bond. The letters after the slash are just the initials of the person who entered the information.

Jill – Here is a definition of Criminal Trespass. “Generally, a person commits the crime of “criminal trespass” when he or she enters or remains on another’s property without the owner’s consent. The property in question could be a house, apartment, office building, or sometimes even an automobile or aircraft”. Habit/Shelter refers to places like the Samm Shelter or Haven for Hope. They are places homeless people can spend a night at.

Starr – That’s the judicial side which is not really what we deal with but we’re thinking it means Reset Jury Trial. You can call the court that the case is being heard in to ask the court clerk what it means.

My brother was arrested on an assualt charge against his girlfriend and Im curious about whats going on with his case. Can you tell me what “ORD NO CNTACT/NHOI” , ” VA-IMPACT SENT JC” , “PRES WALFR TO ADM” and “ADM WALFR TO CF WARRANT”
stands for? Saw all of this in the case events under the description.

    • admin

Desiree – You sure gave us a tough one. The only one we know is the first which would be order no contact. The letters afterwards would be the initial of the person who entered the information. After that we are as lost as you. The information is actual more on the judicial side. We suggest you either call the court clerk in the court the case is assigned to or call P.R. bonds. Let us know what you find out. It could help someone else.

Defendant accepts ______ court. just don’t know what DG stands for.

      • admin

JJ – Yes to both. The judge lists an amount that must be paid to get a person out of jail. The process is for someone to come pay the bond. When they do a document is generated showing the bond has been paid. The document goes to the courts. They don’t have all that money floating around. There are even accounts set up for attorneys with a certain amount of credit on them that can be counted towards a bond. It’s a very complex system.

      • JJ

Ok. So if someone got out on a P.R. BOND, then they didn’t have to pay an actual bond, and the document showing it was a P.R. bond was received by the court? Sorry I’m just trying to clearly understand.

      • admin

JJ – A personal bond means you are basically giving your word that you will appear in court. It allows you to avoid having to pay the bond amount. There is a processing fee, something like $25 or $50 we think. You do not get that amount back. The bond being sent to the court is the judicial side. That is not an area we try to address. Our answer was based on what you said was listed on the arrest information. We do think some kind of documentation is sent to the court to show the bond was paid and probably what kind of bond it was.

What does it mean when they say “DA INFO TO CCF”? I know District Attorney and Community Corrections facility……but i don’t know what it means.

      • admin

JJ – We’re not positive on this. We suspect that it means the D.A. has sent the information on the case, what the sentence was, to the Community Corrections facility. It would make sense that they would need that kind of information.

Okay Question…That I SHOULD know the answer to being a former Bexar Couty Detention Officer (although it was 10+ Years ago…) I need clarification because in this case I dont want to assume I am correct or trust that the listed info is correct. For the Comment Code: CC-PRB is the listed info stating it stands for County Court P.R.Bond the ACTUAL or ONLY possible meaning for this code OR could it ALSO mean County Court-Probation? In which case what EXACTLY would that mean for someone pending magistration. I just want to make sure I’m not missing any possible options for a different outcome and if it was going to read RWOB in the comments would it already day that or would that change only after seeing the magistrate?
