WARNING TO ALL POLICE OFFICERS
Proud Boys Leader Arrested
(DC) – The leader of the Proud Boys, Enrique Tarrio, was arrested in Washington, DC today. The Proud Boys attended a right wing rally last month. After the rally, bands of their members roamed the streets attacking people and destroying property. CNN reports that DC Metropolitan Police Department Public Information Officer Sean Hickman told them,
“He was charged with Destruction of Property related to an offense that occurred on Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the 900 block of 11th Street, Northwest,” Hickman said. “At the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of two high capacity firearm magazines. He was additionally charged with Possession of High Capacity Feeding Device.”
One band of Proud Boys, which included Tarrio, tore a Black Lives Matter banner off of the Metropolitan A.M.E. church, which is a historically Black church, then set the banner on fire. Tarrio told the Washington Post that he was the one who burned the banner.
The Proud Boys have tried to push the narrative that they are not bigots who dislike minorities, women and Muslims (though you will constantly find them disparaging those groups). They say they are “western chauvinists,” but the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) lists them as a hate group. According to the SPLC,
Other hardcore members of the so-called “alt-right” have argued that the “western chauvinist” label is just a “PR c— term” McInnes crafted to gain mainstream acceptance. “Let’s not bullshit,” Brian Brathovd, aka Caeralus Rex, told his co-hosts on the antisemitic The Daily Shoah — one of the most popular alt-right podcasts. If the Proud Boys “were pressed on the issue, I guarantee you that like 90% of them would tell you something along the lines of ‘Hitler was right. Gas the Jews.’”
Anger Has Been Building
The Proud Boys wanted to align themselves with police because police are already armed and geared for conflict. They pushed the narrative ‘Back the Blue’ and were happy when police would abuse protesters the Proud Boys didn’t like. It was only a matter of time before that changed. At a rally in Oregon, the Proud Boys were treated to some of the same tactics that were used against others. At first they were shocked. (See video below) You can hear the following comments, “We’re not violent,” and “It’s a public sidewalk.” Ironically those are the same things the other side said too.
(Warning. Below Paragraph Has Uncensored Language)
But that shock quickly turned to anger once the officer begin advancing and shooting the Proud Boys with pepper balls. “We’re fucking moving, bitch. What the fuck’s wrong with you? Fuck that. You ain’t got to shoot me you fucking cock suckers.”
Death Threats on Parler Against Police Officers
Now that Tarrio was arrested, Proud Boys on Parler are venting their anger at police officers. The anger is being directed at Washington DC officers, but I doubt it is confined to them. I think officers everywhere need to be on the look out. One commenter went so far as to encourage Proud Boys to try to isolate officers, then execute them, and his handle implies that he is here in Texas. Not all Proud Boys are going to be able to afford to go to Washington, DC. Some will stay in their home towns, but to think that their anger is only directed at DC police officers is a mistake. To all officers, be careful.
To our readers, keep the DC police and the National Guard, who the DC mayor was forced to call in for safety reasons, in your prayers or thoughts. They are in an extremely danerous situation. “City leaders are preparing for possible violence, especially as reports show members of the Proud Boys are planning to attend the march dressed incognito.” That’s being done to blame their violence on other groups. Right wing extremist groups have been sharing information on how to sneak weapons into DC, since it’s a crime in DC to carry weapons. Remember, Tarrio had extended capacity magazines with him.
And again, to all officers everywhere, please take this seriously and be careful.
