Racist Sheriff Discovers the Meaning of Karma

On September 28th a federal judged ruled against ICE being able to hold someone in jail based SOLELY on a database search.  ICE has been in the news many times because they held American citizens based off of erroneous information in their database.

Trump held a press conference to sympathize with ICE and brought in law enforcement officers who he knew would spew anti-immigrant rhetoric.  Sheriff Bill E. Waybourn of Tarrant County was there and did what he was brought in to do.  Waybourn complained about the ruling saying it would make it hard to detain unauthorized immigrants who had been charged with DUI.

Then Sheriff Waybourn made the statement that got him the most amount of attention.  “If we have to turn them loose or they get released, they’re coming back to your neighborhood and my neighborhood,” Waybourn said. “These drunks will run over your children, and they will run over my children.”

This was hate speech designed to incite but Sheriff Waybourn insisted that his comment was not meant to be racist.  There are drunks in all races and ethnicity.  That accusation can be thrown at anyone who gets arrested for DUI.  Why did he feel the need to stress that non-citizens had this issue?  There is no data that says they, in a drunken stupor, run over children at a greater rate than Americans.  Sheriff Waybourn can do the usual republican gaslighting song and dance but the only ones who believe him are his fellow racists.

The day after Sheriff Waybourn went on national television to throw a tantrum about those drunk immigrants, Arlington Police arrested his son, Sergei Waybourn, for public intoxication and indecent exposure.  We can all be truly grateful that Arlington police caught this pervert before he got into his car and began running over children.  Karma bites.
