Police Captain Caught in Sting

In November of 2019, Police Captain Randal Woolery decided to a part of town that is well-known populated by hookers. Captain Woolery offered $40 to a woman for sex but the woman was an undercover vice officer. Woolery was arrested but according to the New York Post, he was booked and released in less than 30 minutes.

What Was He Thinking?

The really crazy part is that Captain Woolery knew a sting was going on in the area. Woolery is a 31 year veteran with the Seattle Police Department and works in the professional standards section. According to the NY Post article, Woolery was suspended after his arrest. One would kind of hope so. You have to question the judgment of a man who has been in law enforcement for 31 years, works in the professional standards section, knows a sting is going on in a specific area and still goes to that area looking for a prostitute. It’s almost like he wanted to get caught.

Reputation Destroyed

It’s kind of sad to think of this man putting in so much time with his agency and working his way up to the rank of captain then doing something so stupid that he brings it all crashing down around him, Everything he’s ever accomplished will now be tainted by the way his career ended. The respect he earned is gone. No one will be looking up to this man anymore. And for what? A $40 lay? He could probably have gotten that anywhere. He didn’t have to go to an area where he knew a sting was in operation. I can only think that one of his biggest drivers was the thrill of possibly getting caught. The problem with that is, sometimes you get caught.
