Latest Officers Arrested: Child Pornography, Domestic Violence, Furnishing Contraband
Columbus Police Officer Arrested for Child Pornography
(OH) – Officer Raymond Rose, with the Columbus Police Department, was arrested today for producing child pornography. The 10-year old victim told a family member that Rose had video taped her while she was nude. That family member contacted police. 30-year old Raymond Rose had only been with the police department for four years. He was placed on administrative leave. The case is being investigated by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
“According to court documents, Raymond A. Rose III, 29, is facing charges of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material and pandering obscenity involving a minor,” per the NBC4i.com article.
This is not the first incident of an officer being charged with a child sex offense that the Columbus Police Department has had. According to WOSU Radio,
“Last year, former Columbus Police Sgt. Dean Worthington was sentenced to 90 days in jail, placed on probation for five years and fined $5,000 for having child pornography on his personal cellphone. Worthington, a 22-year veteran of the department, resigned in October 2018 and pleaded guilty the next month. He will have to register as a sex offender for the next 24 years.”
Harrison Police Officer Arrested for Domestic Violence
(NY) – Officer Frank Corvino, with the Harrison Police Department, has been arrested for 3rd degree Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and 2nd degree Harassment. The charges stem from a domestic violence incident that occurred in front of Corvino’s child and resulted in his wife sustaining “bruises on her face, arms and legs and received medical treatment for injuries to her ribs and shoulders.” A judge has granted a protection order against Corvino.
Department of Corrections Officer Arrested
(SC) – A female detention guard with the South Carolina Department of Corrections has been arrested for Furnishing Contraband to a Prisoner and Misconduct in Office. 27-year old Jhane Schenora King became involved in a romantic relationship with one of the inmates she was watching. The WISTV.com article does not say if they ever engaged in sexual acts but it does say she “shared several letters of a sexual nature with him.” Officer King gave the inmate jewelry, photos of her, and brought him food.
