Florida State Trooper Arrested for Having Sex with 14 Year Old
23 year old Florida State Trooper, Riley Schwarz, was arrested for having sex with a child starting when she was 14 years old. Under Florida state law the crime is Lewd and Lascivious Battery and is a felony. The specifics for this charge are “engaging in sexual activity with a person 12 years of age or older but less than 16 years of age.” Florida’s age of consent is 18 years old.
Riley Schwarz admitted to having sex with the child on multiple occasions, including in public in his car behind a Mobil gas station. Mr. Schwarz voluntarily turned himself in to the Land O’ Lakes Detention Facility and was arrested on July 27th.
The assaults came to light when the parents of the young girl found her journal where she documented her sexual activity with Trooper Schwarz. The parents went to the local sheriff’s office to file a complaint against him. Mr. Schwarz received a $10,000 bond for each charge for a total of $20,000. He was immediately fired by the Florida Highway Patrol.
