Decriminalize Marijuana
It’s long past time to decriminalize marijuana. It is ridiculous to have people in jail for smoking a joint. It’s a tragedy that we ruin people’s lives for something as minor as marijuana. Yes people get high off of marijuana. They get worse when drinking alcohol. There are also other uses for marijuana that we can’t take advantage of because of its illegal status.
Cannabis can be used as biomass for an energy source, paper, food, bricks, planks, plastics, textiles, paint, varnish, lacquer, oil for lighting.
But medical use is one of the most compelling reasons we should rethink our laws against cannabis. Cannabis does not have the addictive qualities that other drugs have and has in fact been shown to help fight opioid addictions which has become one of our biggest problems. It also helps with PTSD and pain.
