07/20/2011 – Trial Begins for Ex-Deputy
The bribery trial for Ex-Deputy Alfred Casas began today. Casas is accused of bringing a hacksaw to an inmate, Jacob Keller, who was being held on a capital murder charge. Casas admits he accepted a taco from the inmate’s girlfriend and took it to the inmate but denies there was a hacksaw in it. He is accused of twice accepting Xanax in exchange for delivering the taco. Casas is also charged with bringing an implement of escape into a jail.
