06/06/2014 – Deputy Acquitted on Cruelty to Animals Charge
Deputy Ebony Jones was acquitted on a cruelty to animals charge. The charge against Deputy Jones was brought against him after the death of his K-9, Duke. Duke was left in a vehicle where he expired due to heat. The visiting judge issued an instructed verdict telling the jury to find him innocent due to lack of evidence. The jury did as instructed.
