01/21/2016 – Deputy Files Discrimination Complaint
A Bexar County Investigator has filed a discrimination complaint against the Sheriff’s Office. The deputy, whose name was not released, found pictures of KKK members in their hoods in a folder on his County issued laptop. The folder also included a picture of the high ranking officer that the deputy is accusing of placing that folder on his laptop. The deputy says it created a hostile and intimidating work environment. After filing the complaint the deputy was demoted from Investigator to Patrol Officer. The Sheriff’s Office denies that this was in retaliation or that it has anything to do with the complaint filed against them. An EEOC complaint has also been filed by the deputy.
